About Me

Meet Jack: Your Expert Running Coach

Hey, I'm Jack, a coach at OVERLAP Consistent Running Coaching

I grew up in Alice Springs in the heart of Australia, and running has been a huge part of my life for more than a decade. What started there has taken me around the world, from competing collegiately in the United States to racing professionally at the highest level of the sport.

Throughout my career, I’ve been fortunate enough to represent Australia on the international stage, become a World Champion, hold an Australian record, and compete at some of the biggest athletics meetings across Australia, Europe and the United States. Along the way, I’ve trained alongside and learned from some incredible athletes and coaches, while experiencing a wide range of approaches to training and performance.

But my running career certainly hasn’t been one continuous upward trajectory. I’ve experienced the PBs and breakthrough races, but also injuries, setbacks, disappointing races, and periods where things simply haven’t gone to plan. Those experiences have shaped the way I approach coaching just as much as my successes have.

I believe good coaching is about understanding the individual. There isn’t one perfect training program that works for everyone. Your training should fit around your goals, experience, lifestyle, and the things you enjoy about running.

My educational background in kinesiology, psychology, and athletic coaching has also given me a strong interest in the why behind training. I want the athletes I work with to understand what we’re doing and feel like they’re an active part of the process rather than simply following a schedule.

Whether your goal is to run your first 5km, improve your parkrun time, tackle a marathon, or chase a competitive PB, I want to help you become a better runner while keeping the process enjoyable and sustainable.

If you think we’d make a good team, I’d love to hear from you.

"I really appreciate everything you've done for me; fuel, recovery, slowing down, and taking the easy days easy — there's so much that seems obvious, but sometimes needs to be forced upon runners who are a little too keen. You got me to the start line healthy and prepared, and I'm very grateful."
