About the event

Join us for an invigorating and fun group trail run/hike as we climb to the summit of Mt Duncan.

This run will cater to all fitness levels and abilities, so, lace-up your running shoes, grab your water bottle, and prepare to conquer the great outdoors!

Meet at the Dial Range Car park and be ready for a 6 am start. Google location pin.

The summit trail is approximately 3.5kms from the starting point to the top of Mt Duncan, with 355m elevation gain. We'll follow the same route back to the starting point.

The total length of the route is 7.0kms with 360m elevation gain/loss.

Please allow up to 90 minutes to complete the loop to allow for walking and stops along the way, although you will likely be finished much sooner than this.

There will be a lot of hiking on the way up, and a chance to lengthen your stride and pick up the pace a little on the way back down.

What to Bring (mandatory):

  • Water bottle or hydration pack
  • Snake Bandage
  • Phone (with battery)
  • A can-do attitude :-)

What to Bring (recommended):

  • Nutritious snacks or energy gels
  • Appropriate running attire and footwear
  • Hiking Poles
  • Sunscreen and a hat for sun protection
  • Any additional weather-dependent items (eg, wet-weather jacket)
  • Swimwear and towel for post-run swim (optional)

The trail will challenge you, especially if you're new to trail running, with steep & varying terrain, allowing you to connect with nature and your fellow runners. After the run, we'll gather at the finish and make our way down Johnsons Beach for a quick swim (optional), and then to Penguin Pantry for a well-deserved coffee and some breakfast.

Recharge, unwind, and share stories of triumph and camaraderie with your fellow trail enthusiasts.
